What makes a gig economy work?

The Challenge

Gig economies are a free market system where organisations regularly, or seasonally, contract independent workers or freelancers for short-term engagements. This approach is already being used in the transportation sector (e.g. taxis) and to the allocation of ad hoc tasks (e.g. Airtasker and TaskRabbit).

The Challenge

We want to hear about how traditional sectors might use the gig economy approach to manage seasonal or peak workloads, for example, financial services (e.g. taxation, book-keeping), education (e.g. marking of exams, moderation of students work) administrative services (e.g. reception, payroll processing).
